A Response Surface Modeling Study on Effects of Powder Rate and Machining Parameters on Surface Quality of CoCrMo Processed by Powder Mixed Electrical Discharge Machining

چکیده

Due to the high mechanical strength of metals used in implant manufacture, which makes them difficult work with using other machining techniques, electrical discharge (EDM) is frequently employed production implants. In this study, effect powder ratio and EDM parameters CoCrMo alloy, widely, powder-mixed on surface roughness machined part was investigated through response methodology. AISI 316L stainless steel chosen as electrode material, Ti6V4Al additive powder, taking into account their biocompatibility properties. Using a Taguchi L16 array, an experimental design created by selecting 4 levels for each parameter ratio, current, pulse time (Ton), off (Toff). The method used, along data, estimate how affected arithmetic average (Ra) mean depth (Rz).
